Common Questions Arenz Dental

How can I get a brighter smile?

Brighter smiles begin with thorough, daily at-home teeth cleanings and regularly scheduled professional cleanings. We also offer custom whitening treatments. If you have darkly-stained teeth, porcelain veneers can create a new smile.

For further advice or assistance, please call or email us. We'll be glad to explain the pros and cons of each approach and discuss your best options.

Why should I fix my tooth instead of just having it removed?

Replacing a tooth costs more than restoring it, and conservative treatments retain your natural oral structure. Sometimes, though, a doctor and patient decide that it makes more sense to replace a broken tooth. Share your thoughts and concerns with us so we can develop the best plan for your dental health.

I'm already missing some of my teeth. What options do I have for tooth replacement?

Several options exist today including complete or partial dentures, bridges, and implants. What would work best for you depends on many factors such as the condition of your other teeth and gums. We'll be happy to discuss options for replacing your lost teeth and help you decide which would be the most appropriate treatment.

Can my dentist do anything to help with offensive breath?

If you suffer from bad breath, we'll check for underlying causes like tooth decay or gum disease. We may also recommend additional homecare such as tongue scrapers or other breath treatment system.

I've had a root canal recently, and my tooth feels much better now. Why is it important to return for a crown?

The tooth feels better, but it probably has a temporary filling material inside. The filling will keep the tooth sealed for a few weeks but may soon begin to leak. Bacteria from the mouth can get inside the tooth, and the root canal may need to be done again. Avoid these messy and expensive problems by promptly returning for a crown placement.

In most cases, a tooth that has had a root canal will need a crown for final restoration. Most teeth that need root canals have large fillings, breaks, or new decay. We'll be glad to talk about which treatment is best for you.
